Background
I went to Philmont Scout Ranch back in 2019 with Troop 944. My crew, the Diggity dogs, and we Summited Mount Baldy. When I felt nostalgic looking at some photos, I decided to make an emblem to commemorate the trip.
Some alternative colorways
I selected a yellow/brown color palette to reflect the dirt and dust that would get all over our equipment while on the hike.
Fonts
I desired a fat bold san serif font, so I took Piepie and rounded out the harsh edges. I wanted to evoke a western look, that letters have been inked and would be found on an aged sign. I chose Bahnschrift for the subheader font to stand out from the Header font.
